Stop Time Tracking
Overview

This section will highlight how to stop an ongoing time tracking event that was created from the Add Time Tracking: Start pop-up window.

You can easily see if a time tracking event is ongoing if there is a Clock icon in the respective time tracking column. An example of the Clock icon is illustrated below:

How to Access the Page

There are several different ways that you can stop an ongoing time tracking. The subsections below will show the most common methods:



Add Time Tracking: Start Pop-Up Window

One of the easiest methods for stopping an ongoing time tracking, is through the Add Time Tracking: Start pop-up window. For more information on how to access this pop-up window, please see the Add Time Tracking page.

Once you have opened the Add Time Tracking: Start pop-up window, click the "Stop" option from the drop-down:



List Tab

Another way to stop an ongoing time tracking is through the "List" tab from the Time Tracking feature page. For more information on how to access this page, please see the Time Tracking List page.

Once you are on the "List" tab, you can either:

  1. Right-click on the selected user's time tracking and click on the "Stop" option from the drop-down.

  2. Click on the "Stop" option from the Individual Actions drop-down.



Work Orders

You can also stop an ongoing time tracking through the View Work Order window. For more information on how to access the View Work Order pop-up window please see the View Work Order page.

Once you open this pop-up window, select the "Job Costing" tab:

All the hours associated with the work order will be displayed in the "Time Tracking" section of the "Job Costing" tab. To stop the user's time tracking you can:

  1. Right-click on the selected user's time tracking and click on the "Stop" option from the drop-down.

  2. Click on the "Stop" option from the Individual Actions drop-down.



Quotes

Another way you can stop an ongoing time tracking, is through the View Quote pop-up window. For more information on how to access the View Quote pop-up window please see the View Quote page.

Once you open this pop-up window, select the "Time Tracking" tab:

All the hours associated with the quote will be displayed in the "Time Tracking" tab. To stop the user's time tracking you can:

  1. Right-click on the selected user's time tracking and click on the "Stop" option from the drop-down.

  2. Click on the "Stop" option from the Individual Actions drop-down.

Stop Time Tracking

Once you select "Stop" or hit the Stop button (regardless of the method you choose to do so), the time tracking will automatically stop.

You will be able to easily see if a time tracking event has stopped if there is a Checkmark icon in the respective time tracking column. An example of the Checkmark icon is illustrated below:
