QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

As you may know, QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be supported by QuickBooks.

This section will highlight some commonly asked questions regarding how to switch from the QuickBooks Desktop connector to QuickBooks Online connector on your MobiWork account.

Switching From QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online

The following process will detail how to switch your QuickBooks Desktop connector to a QucikBooks Online connector in MobiWork. Please note that prior to transfering your customers, products, and other data, will have a corresponding QuickBooks Desktop external ID, not a QuickBooks Online external ID. To transfer your MobiWork to QuickBooks Online, your data will need the corresponding QuickBooks Online external IDs.

  • First, please add the QuickBooks Online connector to your Mobiwork account.

  • Then, remove your QuickBooks Desktop connector from your MobiWork account.

  • Once the QuickBooks Desktop connector has been removed from your account, clear the external ID of the MobiWork customers, products, and other data. The best way to clear the external IDs is through Excel. To import or export your data, you can use your entity's respective "Import" and "Export" actions on the List page.

If your data is already in QuickBooks Online you can import it from QuickBooks Online into MobiWork. Please note that in order for the data to sync correctly, the names of the products, customers, etc. should match so that the external IDs can sync to MobiWork.

If the data is not in QuickBooks Online, then export it from MobiWork to QuickBooks Online. In this case, please ensure the settings for the GL accounts are correct.
